Wednesday Tops List of TV Shows and Movies With the Most Copied Outfits in 2026
A new study by fashion brand Kaiia reveals which TV shows and movies are driving the most searches for copied outfits, with Wednesday topping the list.
Carrie Bradshaw remains TV's all-time fashion trendsetter, with nearly half a million people still looking up her screen outfits every month, according to a September 2026 report. This new study by the women's fashion brand Kaiia reveals the top 10 TV shows and movies getting the most buzz for their character pieces right now.
- Wednesday's black-and-white dress is officially the most popular TV look, with over 2.5 million people searching for it every month.
- Almost 200K fans are on the hunt for Emily's outfits, with the latest season giving them even more new looks to copy.
- Peaky Blinders' style inspires women just as much as men, with thousands searching for how to dress like Grace Burgess or Polly Gray.
The research examined popular TV shows and movies to find which ones are setting the fashion trends among the audience right now. The report measured how often people searched for each title's outfits and overall style. It also looked at search interest in individual characters, covering their hairstyles, jewelry, and makeup. These figures were combined into a total search volume for each title, revealing which shows and movies people are hunting down for their looks the most.
Here's a look at the top 10 shows and movies with the most trending outfits:
| TV Show / Movie | Monthly Searches of "[Show] Outfits" | Monthly Searches of "[Show] Fashion" | Top Characters' Fashion-related Searches | Total Fashion-related Searches | |---|---|---|---|---| | Wednesday | 1.2M | 1.1M | 378.5K | 2.7M | | Sex and the City | 506.8K | 510.3K | 509.3K | 1.5M | | Stranger Things | 904.2K | 94.9K | 321.1K | 1.3M | | Peaky Blinders | 355.6K | 281.9K | 9K | 646.6K | | Euphoria | 255K | 174.1K | 209.7K | 638.8K | | The Devil Wears Prada 2 | 168.6K | 255.4K | 83.8K | 507.8K | | Emily in Paris | 119.7K | 117.4K | 195.2K | 432.3K | | Bridgerton | 218.1K | 97.6K | 16.8K | 332.4K | | Buffy the Vampire Slayer | 120K | 41.5K | 138.3K | 299.9K | | Pretty Little Liars | 35.8K | 39.3K | 28.3K | 103.4K |
1. Wednesday
- Outfit searches: 1.2 million a month
- Fashion searches: 1.1 million a month
- Searches for Wednesday, Enid Sinclair, and Morticia Addams: 378.5K combined
Wednesday is the biggest trendsetter among all TV characters. Over 1.2 million people look up her actual outfits every month, and close to 1.1 million more search for the show's style in general, something almost no other title manages at the same time. Even the show's other characters get plenty of attention, with fans searching for Enid Sinclair and Morticia Addams' looks well over 200K times each month.
2. Sex and the City
Sex and the City ranks second, with most of its fashion buzz driven by one iconic character. Close to half a million people search for Carrie Bradshaw's outfits to this day, even though the show wrapped up over twenty years ago. Her fellow characters, Samantha Jones and Charlotte York, are barely noticeable next to her, each getting looked up around 15K times monthly. This shows just how much of the SATC's fashion legacy still rides on Carrie's wardrobe.
3. Stranger Things
Stranger Things has turned into one of the biggest 80s style references for fans, with well over 1.3 million people hunting down the cast's looks every month. It also seems Max Mayfield has overtaken Eleven as the main style inspiration, even though Eleven was the one everyone associated with the show's fashion early on. Max's outfits now get looked up close to 136K times every month, while Eleven's wardrobe sees 118K searches.
4. Peaky Blinders
Peaky Blinders has been the main style inspiration for men, but it's also winning over plenty of women. Set in 1920s Birmingham, the show's gangster tailoring brings in over 640K people hunting down its on-screen looks every month, making it one of the most influential TV products for fashion. Among the women characters, Grace Burgess is clearly the favorite, with fans searching for her looks more than any other lead. Other standout names include Polly Gray and Ada Shelby.
5. Euphoria
Euphoria rounds out the top five, and it's Maddy Perez who fans copy the most from the show. Close to 158K people search for her looks every month, putting her miles ahead of Rue Bennett, who only draws about 19K, and Cassie Howard, who gets 33K. On top of that, way more people are hunting down specific outfits, at 255K a month, than searching for the show's overall style, which indicates that fans are picking favorite looks scene by scene rather than following one style through the whole series.
A fashion expert from Kaiia commented on the study: "Fall 2026 is bringing back a lot of what these shows have been doing on screen for years. Vogue's latest fashion report points to three big trends for this autumn: heritage plaid, 1920s tailoring, and bold oversized proportions. If you are looking for style reference for these looks, try rewatching Wednesday for the plaid trend, since her Nevermore Academy uniform is a moodier, darker take on it than most stores are offering right now. For 1920s tailoring, Peaky Blinders is the obvious pick, because the waistcoats, flat caps, and structured coats worn throughout the show are pulled straight from that era. And for oversized proportions, Emily in Paris is worth another watch too, since Emily's cropped jackets and exaggerated bow details have leaned into that silhouette since the very first season."
