Warner Empire Launches Totally Not A Game Studio and Releases Its First Game

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah: Warner Empire, LC today announced Totally Not A Game Studio, the company's game division, and the release of its first title, An Empire of One Raven, playable now and free in any web browser at warnerempire.com/adventure.

No download. No account. No install. The game opens in a browser tab and runs anywhere.

Chapter One: The Message is a nine-room adventure built around a single quest: find the passage money, trade it for the banner, and raise the banner on the Hill. Chapter Two, The Stone, is in development now.

The studio's second release, The Raven Oracle, is also live at warnerempire.com/oracle, an interactive experience where visitors ask questions and get answers they did not expect.

"People keep asking whether Totally Not A Game Studio is a real game studio," said Guy Warner, founder of Warner Empire, LC. "There's a game. You can play it right now, for free. At this point the name is the only part that isn't real, and we're keeping it anyway."

Warner brings twenty years of professional software work to the studio, including a decade as a chief technology officer. Totally Not A Game Studio is a one-man shop, and says so.

"I've shipped software for twenty years," Warner said. "This is the first time I've shipped a game. It's small, it's strange, and it's finished, which already puts it ahead of most of the industry."

Totally Not A Game Studio sits alongside Totally Not A Record Label, the company's music arm, under Warner Empire, LC of Salt Lake City, which also operates Eco Moving Utah and Bin X. Consistent with company policy, the game ends at a shirt: a single tee, offered once, at the end.

"The whole empire runs on merch," Warner said. "The game is no exception. You can finish the quest or you can buy the shirt. Ideally both."
