Scandinavian Luxury Travel Curator Offers 7-Day, Women-Only Winter Retreat Built Around Personal Empowerment, Outdoor Skills and Community-Driven Experiences (March 2027)
Oslo, Norway (October 27, 2026) - Up Norway, Scandinavia's premier sustainable luxury travel curator, unveils "Arctic Women, Braver by Nature" a transformative seven-day women's Arctic winter journey, hosted by one of Norway's preeminent outdoor skillswomen, Randi Skaug. Skaug is the first Norwegian woman to summit Mount Everest. The winter retreat is limited to 12 guests and will take place from March 8-14, 2027.
Intentionally timed to start on International Women's Day, the journey is an exploration of the female capacity for resilience, strength, and courage. Answering a growing demand for transformative, skills-based, and community-driven travel, guests will learn tangible outdoor skills with Norwegian "friluftsliv" philosophy at its core: fire-building, fishing and bonfire cooking, cold plunging and sauna wellness, and being present within the remote Arctic nature, practising the art of doing nothing. Every moment is purposefully designed the Up Norway way: expert-led and impactful, allowing for a deep connection with the self, the Arctic wild, and others in a way that stays with guests long after they return home.
Itinerary Highlights
- Day 1: Setting Intentions. Guests will settle into Oslo, where cutting-edge design, culture, and cuisine unfold against a backdrop of forests, fjords, and open water. Here, guests will receive an introduction to Norwegian history and women's role in it during a private guided tour of the Rose Castle, followed by Norwegian "friluftsliv", an intention-setting session around the campfire, that will set the tone for the rest of the trip.
- Day 2-5: The Journey North. Guests will fly north to Bodø, an Arctic town surrounded by some of Norway's most striking untamed nature. After a personal introduction to local arts and culture through Hanne Jakhelln, a leading figure in Norwegian culture life, guests will then head to Naustholmen. Naustholmen is a tiny islet in the Steigen archipelago off Nordland's coast and the outpost of trip host Randi Skaug. Days here are spent outdoors, learning to layer and stay warm, build and cook over open fire, move safely along coastal trails, and rediscover sea-air mornings, cave walks, and sauna nights under vast Arctic skies in the Northern Lights season. Under Randi's guidance, guests will learn how to nurture team spirit and celebrate the unique bond formed between women amidst the wild waves and bracing weather of the Arctic North.
- Day 6: In For Landing. Returning to Bodø, guests will have a final debriefing session, giving them time to put words to what the island gave them, and what they will carry home. Following a flight back to Oslo, a final farewell dinner in the art deco surroundings of Ekspedisjonshallen is hosted by Up Norway, leaving guests ready to return home with Arctic quiet and new confidence they can carry into everyday life.
- Day 7: Departure.
Pricing for the Arctic Women, Braver by Nature experience starts at $5896 USD per person based on double occupancy. The departure runs from March 8-14, 2027 and is limited to 12 guests. The package includes thoughtfully curated accommodations, guided activities, select meals, local transfers, and Up Norway's seamless travel services.
