Twickenham tutoring company gives parents a live window into every lesson with new family and tutor portal
Richmond Tutoring is rolling out a free online portal letting parents see each lesson, tutor notes, homework and progress toward target grades.

Twickenham, UK, 1 November 2026. Richmond Tutoring, the online tutoring company for KS3, GCSE and A-Level students, today began rolling out a family and tutor portal that shows parents exactly what happens in their child's tutoring, week by week. The portal is included free for every family that tutors with the company.
For most families, tutoring is a black box. Parents pay for lessons but rarely see what was covered, whether homework was done, or whether their child is on track for the grade they need. The new portal, at my.richmondtutoring.co.uk, closes that gap.
What parents see
- Every lesson, in a calendar: past and upcoming lessons, with a simple way to ask to move or cancel one.
- A note after every lesson: the tutor records the topics covered, how the student worked and what comes next.
- Homework, set and handed in online: students hand in photos or a PDF of their work, and parents see what is due, what is late and the marks.
- Progress towards a target grade: a journey page for each child shows their working grade, their target and the topics that still need work.
- School tests: parents add upcoming school tests and mocks so the tutor can plan lessons around them.
- Messages with the tutor, in one place rather than scattered across texts and emails.
Built for tutors too
Tutors get their own side of the portal: their timetable with a one-click Join button for each online lesson, attendance, lesson notes, and a homework builder. The builder draws on a bank of more than 7,300 questions and 714 GCSE past papers across the main exam boards. Handed-in work can be checked automatically against the mark scheme, then reviewed by the tutor before any mark reaches the family. Between 5 and 30 October, tutors set 144 homework assignments through the system, families received 188 automatic reminders and follow-ups, and 43 pieces of homework were handed in online and confirmed.
"Parents tell us the hardest part of paying for tutoring is not knowing what is actually happening," said Anand Meena, co-founder of Richmond Tutoring. "Now every lesson leaves a record: what was taught, what homework was set and whether it came back. A parent can open their phone on a Tuesday evening and know exactly where their child stands, without waiting for a progress report."
"Technology here is there to support the tutor, not replace them," Meena added. "Our tutors spend less time on admin and marking, and more time teaching. The relationship between the tutor and the student is still the heart of it."
The portal is rolling out to families from 1 November, as Year 11 students sit their November mock exams. It works on phones and computers, with no app to install; families sign in with their email address and a one-time link.
Richmond Tutoring currently teaches 81 students across the UK and holds a 5.0-star rating from 89 Google reviews.
