Theory Cards launches to rank and explain the collectible card market

Domain Farm Ltd has launched Theory Cards, a title covering the collectible trading card market.

The site publishes ranked guides to the most valuable cards across Pokemon, sports, Magic: The Gathering and other trading card games, alongside explanations of grading and reporting on where the market is moving.

The collectibles market runs on two things that are rarely explained together: which cards are scarce, and what condition grading does to their value. A card's grade can change its price by an order of magnitude, and the grading scales are not intuitive. Theory Cards sets out both, so that a ranking can be understood rather than simply read.

Prices in this market move, and the site records when a figure was accurate rather than presenting it as permanent.
