Sunset workouts, cinema under the moon, and free community events for everyone in between: The Plaza at Uptown Dubai is officially open, and it might just be the city's new favourite hangout.

DUBAI, UAE, September 2026: Forget waiting for someone else to make plans. The Plaza at Uptown Dubai has opened its doors to The Plaza Season, an open-air lineup of fitness classes, cinema nights, markets, and community meetups built for one reason: to give Dubai an easy place to show up. Spanning 21,000 square meters at the heart of DMCC's Uptown Dubai, and operated by 7 Management, one of the region's leading hospitality and entertainment groups, The Plaza swaps the usual glossy events-venue playbook for a more neighbourhood-feeling spot under the open sky, where a Sunday morning workout can turn into brunch plans and a Tuesday movie night can become a weekly ritual.

The line-up so far is a genuine reflection of how Dubai spends its week. From 2 October, Film Society brings open-air cinema to the lawns: think popcorn, good company and a big screen under the moon light. Bootscoot line dancing, Fitness Hangout and boot camp sessions round out the calendar, with more to be announced as The Plaza Season builds towards the cooler months. The season has already kicked off in style with Zumba Factory Club, a free session that pulled in 400 people for dancing, alongside F&B pop-ups.

But more than the programming, The Plaza Season is really about the people who show up for it. It's the friends who meet for Sunday Zumba and end up staying for a bite, the neighbours who claim their usual spot on the lawn for movie night, and the strangers who turn into regulars over a few weekends of markets and meet-ups. The Plaza was built to make that kind of connection easy, a place where community happens on its own, without needing an excuse or an invite.

The Plaza sits at the heart of Uptown Dubai, within minutes of JLT, Dubai Marina and Palm Jumeirah, and just a short walk from the DMCC Metro Station, which makes it an easy plan to actually commit to, even on a weeknight. There is free parking for guests and turnkey event infrastructure, which is built to host everything from a Tuesday boot camp to a full-scale festival.
