Synderesis Launches World's First AI Model Trained on Catholic Values

European AI company takes Catholic AI beyond prompts and document retrieval, with a trained model now available for everyday work, research and business.

KRAKÓW, POLAND, 30 October 2026, Synderesis has launched the world's first publicly available AI model trained at the level of its weights to follow Catholic values. The platform is live at synderesis.eu.

Existing Catholic AI services often combine general-purpose language models with religious document libraries and instructions. Synderesis takes a different approach: Catholic teaching is incorporated into the model itself through training, rather than applied only as a layer around an existing AI system. This enables a Catholic-values-aligned model intended for everyday professional tasks, not only theological questions.

"The aim is for Catholic values to be part of how the model reasons, rather than a set of instructions added on top of it," said Hasse Hällström, PhD, co-founder of Synderesis, who leads the company's model development and research.

Among the top performers on a Catholic AI benchmark

In a company-run Catholic benchmark, Synderesis ranked among the two highest-scoring systems in a six-model comparison, alongside Magisterium AI. The evaluation found no statistically significant difference between their scores. Synderesis produced no unacceptable claims in its 90 assessed responses. All six systems answered the same questions and were evaluated using the same automated grading procedure.

Built for everyday work, with people in control

Synderesis helps individuals and organisations with writing, research, analysis and routine tasks, while keeping people responsible for consequential decisions. Its products include Synderesis Spark for fast questions and drafts; Synderesis Pro for complex research and reasoning; Synderesis Labora for approved tasks under user supervision; and Synderesis Code, a desktop coding assistant for macOS and Windows, currently in early alpha.

Organisations can deploy Synderesis through private team workspaces, website customer agents and API integrations. Private-cloud and on-premise arrangements are available on request.

"We are not simply building a religious question-and-answer tool," said Oscar Andersson, co-founder of Synderesis. "We want Catholic-aligned AI to be genuinely useful in daily work, from drafting and research to the systems organisations depend on. People should remain in control of the decisions that matter."
