Signicat consolidates its compliance framework with TÜV Austria for eIDAS 2.0

London, 20th October 2026 - Signicat, Europe's leading provider of digital identity solutions, today announces that TÜV AUSTRIA will serve as the single Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) for all its eIDAS-related audits. The move is a direct response to increasing regulatory complexity and signals a wider market shift from fragmented compliance to unified, transparent assurance frameworks.

For businesses in highly regulated sectors like banking and fintech, this decision provides a clearer, more transparent view of Signicat's compliance status across all its services.

This consolidation also comes as the European digital identity market enters a period of rapid, policy-driven growth. The European Commission has set a target for 80 percent of EU citizens to use a digital wallet by 2030. This initiative is backed by projections from Juniper Research that the global digital identity sector will reach 80 billion dollars in the same timeframe, underscoring the need for robust and verifiable trust mechanisms.

The company's growth through acquisitions led to its services being assessed by five different CABs. This fragmented structure, a common outcome of M&A in the technology industry, created practical challenges, increasing administrative work and making a unified view of compliance unnecessarily complex.
