Italian pizza producer Roncadin is investing more than €80 million in Italy and the US as it targets €500 million in turnover within three years. The UK accounts for 22% of the group's sales, making it a significant market for the frozen and chilled pizza and savoury bakery business.
Around €50 million will go into expanding its Meduno factory to meet growing European demand. Two new production lines will bring capacity to 160 million pizzas a year by early 2028 and are expected to create around 200 jobs. A further €22 million investment in Chicago will take annual capacity there to 50 million pizzas from 2028.
The family-owned group, which supplies supermarket own-label ranges and the foodservice market, expects record turnover of around €300 million in 2026. It is also expanding its premium range of pinsa (Roman-style flatbread) and snacks through RoncaLab and has appointed former Freiberger Chief Sales Officer Thomas Schulz as Senior Commercial Advisor.
