Private Welcome Ritual Pairs Signature Tequilas With Artisanal Mexican Cacao for Wedding Groups Arriving at Velas Resorts

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (October 29, 2026) - Velas Weddings introduces Bridal Elixir, a new private check-in experience that replaces the traditional front desk arrival with a tequila and Mexican chocolate pairing for wedding groups.

The experience begins at the airport, where the group is met by a private luxury SUV and driven directly to the resort entrance. Upon arrival, guests bypass the main reception lobby and are guided to an exclusive private space, set with warm lighting, ambient lounge music and a flight-style bar. Each guest or couple has a station at the bar or a high table, where a personalized welcome note written in calligraphy and a three-flight tasting tray are waiting. The notes carry a custom greeting, and trays are crafted from wood or marble and spotlit. Menu cards with gold leaf accents or handwritten calligraphy describe each pairing.

The tasting is built around three flights - each pairing a tequila with a different style of artisanal Mexican cacao confection. The first flight pairs a Tequila Blanco with white chocolate infused with citrus and passion fruit. The second pairs a Tequila Reposado with a dark chocolate truffle featuring cinnamon and sea salt. The third pairs a Tequila Añejo or Extra Añejo, or a Tequila Cream, with an artisanal milk chocolate finished with toasted Mexican cacao nibs or praline. A sommelier or mixologist guides the group through the tasting notes of each flight. Guests then make their first welcome toast and receive their suite keys, concluding the check-in with the group already settled into the celebration.
