Match the ends, clear the gems between, and help shape an in-development puzzle game.

Independent developer Morhishita has opened an English-language browser playtest of Jewelbreak on itch.io. The playtest is free and can be launched from the game page without installing the game.

Play now: https://morhishita.itch.io/jewelbreak

Jewelbreak gives gem swapping a different goal: line up identical gems in a row or column to clear the matching ends and the gems between them. Players drag a gem to swap it with an adjacent neighbor, plan around rocks and walls that block the line, and complete each stage's objectives before the move counter runs out.

The playtest includes 10 stages, from EASY to EXTRA, on boards that grow from 6 x 6 to 8 x 8. Later stages introduce ice, rocks and combo goals. Unlimited hearts and all nine items are available in this playtest, so players can retry and experiment freely. No purchases or ads are required to play. Players can also switch between normal and double speed, or use SKIP FX to fast-forward active effects.

A desktop browser and mouse are recommended. Players should allow the initial load to finish; an optional Windows download is available on the same page. Progress is stored locally in the browser, and clearing browser data may reset it.

Morhishita is inviting feedback through the itch.io page's comments, especially on stage difficulty, controls and any confusing rules. This is an early playtest: balance, visuals and features may change. Features marked COMING SOON are not available yet.
