Free Press Releases launches as a no-cost publishing route for UK organisations

Domain Farm Ltd has launched Free Press Releases, a service that publishes press releases from UK organisations at no cost.

There is no account to create and no form to complete. An organisation emails its announcement, a person reads it, and if it is a genuine release it is published at a permanent address. There is no word limit and no charge for including a link.

The site operates on two rules that are stated openly rather than buried in terms.

The first is that it publishes only what is submitted to it. Free press release sites are commonly filled by copying releases from other distribution services. This one does not do that. A release sent to a publisher carries an implied licence to publish it; one lifted from another wire carries neither that licence nor that service's terms of use.

The second is that it does not build a contact database from submissions. Press releases contain names, job titles and email addresses. Those details publish inside the release, because that is what a notes to editors block is for, but they are not extracted, enriched against other sources, or sold on.

Paid distribution into regional and national titles is available separately through the company's wire service, and the site states plainly that no distributor can promise coverage.
