Correction: 'Mansfield Park, The Companion Edition' press release
Sender submits corrected collation figure (80.9%) and clarifies the edition retains 1814 period spellings, but full release text is not included.
A correction to the press release I submitted earlier today (Oct. 31, 2026): "Mansfield Park, The Companion Edition" Presents Austen's Complete 1814 Text, Collated Against the First Edition, and Completes the Six Austen Novels in Companion Classics.
Two facts in the release as sent were pre-correction figures:
- The collation figure read 78.1%. The correct figure is 80.9%, a 288-probe test across all forty-eight chapters matched at 80.9%, with no substantive variant against the 1814 first edition found.
- The release as sent described the edition's spelling as modernized. That is incorrect: the edition RETAINS the 1814 period spellings (shew, chuse, and connexion are the rule in both witnesses).
Please amend the release accordingly. I can resend the corrected full text if that is easier.
