Builth Wells retailer adds 65 Welsh birthday-card designs after customer requests
Wye Knot, a Builth Wells gift shop, added 65 Welsh birthday-card designs and more Highland cow gifts after customer requests ahead of its first Christmas.

Builth Wells, Wales, 22 October 2026, When Lisa Morris opened Wye Knot, her first independent gift and card shop, at 27 High Street, Builth Wells, on 29 June 2026, she had no previous retail experience or sales history to guide her opening range.
Customer requests soon reshaped what she stocked. Shoppers asked for Welsh birthday cards, prompting Lisa to add 65 designs. Highland cow gifts also sold better than she expected, challenging her initial assumption that sheep and dragon-themed gifts would be the strongest sellers.
Lisa is using customer requests and early sales to adjust the shop's range as it approaches its first Christmas season. The experience shows how a small rural retailer can learn what its community wants through direct conversations and small, responsive stock decisions.
