Applied moves into Comms With AI, tying each AI test to the template it tested

Comms With AI founder Michael MacLennan moves his Applied publication into the Comms With AI library, linking each AI test directly to the template it tested.

EDINBURGH, 19 October 2026. Applied Comms With AI, the publication in which Michael MacLennan tests AI tools on real communications work, has moved into Comms With AI, the free library of AI templates, workflows and tools for communications teams. It now lives at https://www.google.com/url?q=http://commswith.ai/applied&source=gmail&ust=1792482377864000&sa=E.

All 44 pieces published since June 2025 moved with their original dates: 20 articles, 14 experiments, six interviews and four shorter pieces. Every one of the 80 old https://www.google.com/url?q=http://appliedcomms.ai&source=gmail&ust=1792482377864000&sa=E addresses now leads to the same piece on the new site, and each was tested on a rehearsal domain before the switch on 15 October.

The move puts each test beside the thing it tested. Before, seven of the 44 pieces linked to a template in the library. From now on every piece names the template, toolkit, tool or phase it puts to work, and a template that has been tested shows the dated test on its own page, under "Tested in practice". The first is the AI tool register.

New pieces will mostly be short, dated notes: one test, one result, 150 to 400 words, with a method line recording the model, the version, where it was run, how many times and what went in.

The LinkedIn newsletter that carried Applied, with around 600 subscribers, is now the Comms With AI Briefing, published weekly on Fridays.

Michael MacLennan, founder of Comms With AI, said: "A test is most useful sitting next to the thing it tested. Applied's readers were already on Comms With AI and LinkedIn, so the publication has followed them. Expect fewer long reads and more short, dated notes you can put to work the same day."
