IT HAS EMERGED THAT A THREE MONTH WORLD CRUISE ON THE MV VAN GOGH, CHARTERED BY TRAVELSCOPE AND SCHEDULED TO DEPART FALMOUTH IN THE NEW YEAR, MAY STILL GO AHEAD. ABTA (ASSOCIATION OF BRITISH TRAVEL AGENTS) WILL SHORTLY MAKE A DECISION ON WHETHER PASSENGERS WILL BE ALLOWED TO TAKE THE CRUISE WHICH HAS COST UP TO £17K FOR EACH CRUISE PASSENGER, BUT WHICH HAS BEEN THROWN INTO DOUBT BECAUSE OF THE COLLAPSE OF TRAVELSCOPE 4 DAYS AGO. THE REASON FOR THE FRESH HOPE THAT THE CRUISE HOLIDAY WILL GO AHEAD IS THAT THE DUTCH OWNERS OF THE VAN GOGH,'CLUB CRUISE', HAS OFFERED THE CRUISE CHEAPER THAN WHAT THE COST OF COMPENSATION WILL BE. |
