Milton Keynes' newest fine-dining restaurant is now "officially open". On Monday 16th July at 8.00pm The Plough Wavendon’s co-owners Jon Todd and Howard Bridgeman cut the red ribbon and declared the restaurant “officially open”. Mr Bridgeman spoke with pride and passion, “Jon and I have been talking about the potential of this place for ten years. It’s wonderful to see our dreams realised – to have created the finest dining establishment in the Milton Keynes locale.”A hearty round of applause rang out from the specially invited guests and VIPs, including the former director of catering for BA worldwide, the editor of the South Africa Times, the MD and CEO of Tyrrells Potato Chips and Kriss Akabusi, former Olympic medal winner turned motivational speaker. Following Champagne and canapés in The Courtyard, guests then enjoyed a six course dinner accompanied by the sommelier’s wine recommendations. The Plough’s head chef Grant Hawthorne, who becomes a resident of Aspley Guise in Bedfordshire later this month, affirmed his team’s desire and determination to achieve Michelin status for the restaurant. “The Plough is a service-led establishment which celebrates the seasons using the very best of local produce,” he explained. “Our menu is complemented by an extensive Sommelier’s Selection of Old and New World wines, approximately thirty of which will be available by the glass in the very near future.” The Plough Wavendon is open daily from noon, and its menu includes a pre-theatre dinner served between 5.00pm and 7.00pm. The Terrace is open for non-diners who wish to enjoy a drink from the bar. For enquiries and reservations please call 01908 587576. - e n d s - 17th July 2007 |
