A market leader in luxury travel, Elegant Resorts, launches its Luxury Ski Brochure for the 2008 Winter Season. For the first time, the destination of Andorra has been introduced, as well as two brand new chalets from the luxurious Descent International Collection.

This carefully handpicked collection of hotels and ski resorts includes a selection of the finest hotels and chalets available for the discerning ski traveller to suit one and all – from couples to groups of friends and families, all looking for the absolute best in winter sports from their chosen destination as well as high-quality service and facilities for their annual luxury ski break.

Flexibility and privacy come immediately to mind when selecting a chalet, and the unique appeal of indulging in your own space is often a welcome alternative to the more traditional hotel experience. Having your meals prepared for you by a private chef is often part of a great holiday, and can also be a godsend to families with small children - alternatively why not use the opportunity to explore local restaurants. The Descent International Collection (pg 13), offers clients the service and luxury of a hotel in the privacy of their own chalet and new for this season are Tivoli Lodge in Davos and The Lodge in Méribel, each offering a dedicated chauffeur and 4x4 vehicle and private chef, as all chalets from this collection.

The Sport Hotel Hermitage & Spa in the resort of Soldeu, Andorra (pg 52), is the latest destination to be added to the collection this season. The five-star accommodation features 120 suites, each with a balcony boasting mountain views, and comes complete with a Sport Wellness Mountain Spa, two à la carte restaurants, a miniclub and is just a fifty-metre walk from the main gondola.
Ever popular, Le Kilimandjaro Mountain Resort, Courchevel 1850 (pg 19), offers a choice of thirty-five guest rooms and suites housed in eight individual chalets, with the option to rent four of the chalets exclusively, whilst two additional chalets even have their own private butler – again, ideal for the larger party.

The Fairmont Chateau Whistler (pg 56), is still one of North America’s favourite mountain resort destinations and the site of the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. Elegant Resorts recommends the Fairmont Gold rooms with their gas fireplace, Jacuzzi and access to the Fairmont Gold Lounge benefits including daily newspapers and après ski appetisers.

Hotel Hermitage, Cervinia (pg 48), is a perfect retreat for couples with thirty-eight cosy guest rooms, all with private terraces. The hotel also has an indoor swimming pool, gym and the fabulous Beauty et Remise en Forme with a full range of tempting treatments to soothe any aches and pains.
