Experience Singapore’s scenic sights atop the world’s largest observation wheel from 1 March, 2008 Singapore, March 03, 2008 -- The iconic Singapore Flyer – the world’s largest observation wheel – opens its doors to the public on 1 March 2008, four weeks earlier than originally planned. The momentous occasion will allow members of the public to see Singapore, through its unobstructed aerial views of the island cityscape. The observation wheel gives a 360º panoramic view of Singapore, from the fast-changing Marina Bay that is transforming by the minute, to the islands of Malaysia and Indonesia. It is the best vantage point of Singapore to see and feel the vibrancy of the beautiful and colourful city. Besides enjoying the 30-minute ride on the 165-metre tall Singapore Flyer, the exciting mix of specialty and lifestyle concept shops at the three-storey Retail Terminal will provide visitors with the convenience of a truly unique experience. At the heart of the Retail Terminal, visitors can enjoy a cool reprieve from the tropical heat by visiting the lush Asian rainforest and its cascading water displays. As Singapore’s most anticipated new tourism icon, the S$240 million gaint observation wheel is already the talk of the region. Chairman of Singapore Flyer Pte Ltd, Mr Florian Bollen said, “I hope that the Singapore Flyer will become a new Icon for Singapore for its beauty and vitality. Every Singaporean and their visitors should experience it!" Tickets across the different categories are available online at www.singaporeflyer.com.sg.
