Agios Nikolaos, Crete -- ( Nov 25th, 2006) -- One in every four people (27%) are now booking their holidays on the internet and turning away from traditional high street travel agents and tour companies, according to a recent trends report by switch/maestro. The "fear factor" often limits other travellers from taking the independent option. What if there is a problem with the accommodation ?, what if my plane is delayed?, what if I have an accident, or my car breaks down? The reality is, that if you book your accommodation with a holiday home owner or via an accommodation provider, you will be left high and dry. What to do then, to take advantage of the flexibility of independent travel but have the reassurance of someone to turn to if there is a problem. Simplycreteholidays, an independent U.K company, appear to have found the solution. Providing holiday accommodation on the island of Crete, they supply full support during the stay, from the moment you arrive at the airport to the moment you pass through the check-in on your way home, with a traditional holiday rep service and 24 hour help line for emergencies. Every accommodation has been personally inspected by directors Steve Moorman and Viki Kuhlke and every property manager or owner is known to them personally. "With the increasing consolidation of tour operators, corporate takeovers and streamlining, service was becoming a thing of the past. People want to talk one to one with someone who knows the property and the area, not call centre staff who often don't know the first thing about Crete", says Steve. "We not only understand the culture and way of life of the island, we also speak the language which can often make all the difference if a problem arises".
