This week's Logistics Bulletin takes global expansion as its theme. In the last week, Schneider National has received the go-ahead for operations in China, Thiel Logistik is expanding its presence in South America, DPWN has announced multi million dollar investments in the Middle East and major logistics hubs are to be established in Russia.
Elsewhere, computer manufacturer Dell has established a new Global operations organisation, whilst retailer Decathlon is expanding its logistics footprint in China and Audi and Volkswagen have opened a parts centre in the Middle East. In Europe, DHL is investing in Hungary, Kuehne + Nagel is leasing warehouse space in Romania and Beiersdorf is to sell its logistics centre in Germany.
Among contract wins (and losses) reported this week are a number of developments at Unipart Logistics (Boots, Apple and Vodafone), TNT, Allied Foods and Norbert Dentressangle.
