Tony Wright Attempts World Record For Longest Phone Call
Written by Reuven Proenca

Cornishman Tony Wright, who famously stayed awake for 11 days earlier this year, will be attempting to break the record for the world’s longest phone call with Tesco internet phone , and he’s appealing to the public to help him.

Tony Wright says “The current world record is 39 hours and I plan to smash that.  However, it’s a very long time to be talking, so I’m asking the public to help me by either talking to me from Tesco in London or suggesting conversation topics online at www.longestinternetphonecall.com .”

The world record attempt celebrates the launch of new low cost monthly call plans from Tesco internet phone, so like Tony, anyone with broadband internet access will be able to make really long phone calls for free, or for a fraction of what you’d expect to pay.

By getting involved, the public will not only help Tony to keep talking, but they will also help to raise money for the British Red Cross; for every hour that Tony stays on the call, Tesco internet phone will donate £100 to the charity, part of the to the £2m that Tesco is aiming to raise for the charity this year.

Although Tony and his Tesco internet phone will be based at his home in Penzance throughout the record attempt, the other side of the action will be taking place at the Tesco Kensington Superstore in London from 11am on the 12th of September.  If you happen to be in London make sure you stop by!
