Press Release 22nd February 2008 Innovative new service helps call centres to save time and money managing headsets Corporate Telecommunications, a leading distributor of headsets, telephony and voice and data equipment, has launched an innovative service to maker it easier for call centres to manage headset use. The service uses unique identity codes and specially-designed software to monitor the lifecycle of each headset - who is using which headset, which ones need repairing, which are out of warranty, which ones need new voice tubes or need upgrading. The information is automatically stored on a secure web-based database, avoiding the need for separate software. All changes are updated directly onto the system, requiring no paper and minimal admin, saving time and minimising internal costs. There is also a PDA-based option. “Trying to keep track of headsets using an Excel spreadsheet or databases might work in the short term, but manually inputting information on scores of headsets is a time consuming task. And if the administrator is on holiday, sick or leaves the company, it doesn’t take long for the spreadsheet to become out of date. Not to mention the security risks of losing potentially sensitive information,” said Chan Bansal, business development manager at Corporate Telecommunications. Corporate Telecommunications’ service uses Accucheck software to provide a comprehensive audit trail for each headset, with multiple reporting options. As the headset is used, a history of each change in use or status is created for both headsets and agents. This can identify when headsets need maintaining and identify problems such as unreliable headset models or careless users, cutting the amount time and money spent on headset management, extending headset longevity and aiding compliance with health and safety guidelines on headset use. An additional benefit is that Accucheck can also be expanded to cover a range of other equipment, including desktop and mobile computers, without having to key in large amounts of data. “Developments in business culture, such as health and safety laws, regulatory changes and tight cost controls, mean sketchy asset records are not acceptable. Not managing your assets effectively, wastes time, costs money and risks falling foul of regulations,” said Bansal. Corporate Telecommunications is so confident in its headset management service that it offers a free demonstration for interested companies.
