1st April 2008  PRESS RELEASE – general It was far from being Mission Impossible for two imaginative youngsters who have won a national competition to design a selection of new levels for the LEGO® company’s most popular recent website game. First prize winner Jack Hardy (11) and runner up Thomas Lea (11) will play-test the levels they devised for the space based LEGO game - Mars Mission - when they visit Bournemouth based 4T2 Multimedia on April 4th.  After the children’s expert input, the levels will go live on LEGO.com and be played by millions of children around the World. As part of the prize package the two will also be the first ever children to build a selection of new Space based LEGO vehicles. The pair fought off tough opposition from around a thousand other entrants aged from 4 - 13 who entered the competition run by LEGO Club Magazine last December. Says Lead Internet Content Manager, Brent Hill from LEGO System A/S, Denmark: “We were taken aback at the quality of entries received in the competition, we knew LEGO fans were an inventive lot but the ideas and work that the youngsters had put into it was phenomenal and it was an incredibly tough job for the team to pick a winner” The lucky two, Jack from Newton Abbot in Devon and Thomas from Coventry will enjoy a visit to the 4T2 development centre in Bournemouth, where LEGO Mars Mission Games are designed and the games produced. They also get to meet the team behind the LEGO games along with their dads and ask as many questions as they want – giving 4T2 a run for their money no doubt.  The boys will then get to see their designs being completed and transformed into the latest LEGO Mars Mission Game, as well as offer some hands on help themselves – so they aren’t just involved in the design but also the creation of the games too. “Jack and Thomas will go down in LEGO history as the first ever fans to officially create content for their online games.  Both 4T2 and LEGO learn from the entrants how they look at the game, what they want out of the game, the challenges they expect to see and how they want to conquer them. “This is an amazing opportunity and we are so proud of the winning entrants, it’s not everyday you get to create your own design for a prestigious brand like LEGO Mars Mission (there’s people vying for jobs like these)!  Jack and Thomas will help have the chance to see and use their own designs, which will be used in the forthcoming Mars Mission online game, due to launch on May and be a part of LEGO history”, says Mike Hawkyard of 4T2.  “We are really looking forward to working with Jack and Thomas. Jack’s design is colourful and looks amazing whilst Thomas created an amazing level: it’s well thought out and put together, showing great imagination too.” Their prize will also include a goody bag containing a range of the latest Mars Mission 2008 models.  For more information contact please call Jackie Phillipson on 01202 896698 / 077 406 11147 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or visit www.4T2.co.uk
