CA Actively Supporting Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing
Islandia, NY – September 15, 2008 – CA, Inc. (NASDAQ: CA) announced today its sponsorship of the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology (ABI), an organization dedicated to increasing the impact of women on all aspects of technology and increasing the positive impact of technology on women. Through this sponsorship, CA will support programs that bring together members of industry, academia, and government to discuss the preeminent issues facing women in technology fields. As part of this partnership, CA is participating in the 2008 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing, October 1-4, 2008 in Keystone Colorado. This event is the eighth in a series of conferences designed to bring the research and career interests of women in computing to the forefront. This event provides a great networking platform in which CA representatives will be actively speaking with conference participants, both working professionals and students, on potential full-time and internship positions that may be available in the future. In addition, CA employees Al Nugent, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer and Gabriel Silberman, Senior Vice President, CA Labs will be participating in the CTO Forum which is an event held in conjunction with the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women that involves CTOs, engineering executives and the ABI’s Board of Trustees convening to discuss issues facing technical women. “The Anita Borg Institute seeks to ensure women’s voices will result in higher levels of technological innovation,” said Jody Mahoney, Vice President of Business Development of ABI. “With this goal in mind, CA is a logical partner because of the company’s emphasis on helping others reach their full potential. CA’s active participation in the Grace Hopper Celebration is a clear sign of their commitment to the advancement of their technical women.” CA is also committed to advancing technology research through the company’s innovative CA Labs program.
