Recent Forgan signing David J Russell (‘DJ’) finished joint 49th alongside Peter Mitchell on 19-under 307. Gordon J Brand lifted the trophy on 4 over 292 – after being forced into a lengthy sudden-death match against his junior name-sake after re-playing the 18th a total of five times before the match was settled at the 17th. Woosnam and ‘DJ’ both experienced a shaky start finishing on 7 over and 8 over par respectively on the first day. However, Day two saw both players recover slightly in appalling conditions, with both players finishing with a score of 76 - Woosie finishing on 4-over to add to his first day 79; 11 shots behind leaders Ross Drummond and Juan Quiros at level par. Both players survived the cut to enter the final stage of the competition. After surviving the cut Woosie commented, “…the objective for me is to try and get things going on Saturday then hopefully on Sunday I can climb up the field and pick up some Order of Merit points and give the crowd some good golf to watch”. Woosie, finishing in 14th position, extended his lead over Bernhard Langer with total prize winnings of €234,166 in first position in the Seniors Tour Order of Merit.
