The well-known golf commentator Peter Allis will have with him a unique piece of golfing memorabilia at the Barclays Scottish Open this week. It is hoped Peter will be able to encourage the top golfers at the event to sign it. The piece will then be auctioned off later in the month to raise funds for a permanent memorial for the brave soldiers that died during the Adens conflict in the 1960’s. The unique piece of golfing memorabilia consists of a framed print of St Andrews and a full set of miniature golf clubs circa. 1754. Each club has been hand crafted by master club maker Nick Pearce especially for the piece. The memorabilia has already made an appearance at the PGA championship at Wentworth and signed by Colin Montgomery, Ernie Els and the winner Henriq Stevson to name just a few. The fund raising got a new boost source weeks ago when compelloart.com offered to help with fundraising by posting information on its gallery website and helping the Adens vets with online promotion and marketing organisation. Since then a blog has been created for the Aden Veterans, which will be presented to them by Compelloart at the end of the fund raising. Mike Harding from Compelloart has sought out an online specialist in the memorabilia field to help auction the piece and found a perfect partner in superstars.co.uk Tim Terry Managing Director had this to say: “This really is a fantastic piece of golf memorabilia and is certainly a one of a kind item that deserves to go to true golf fan’s home. With so many signatures from many of the World’s top golfers this really is a unique and highly collectable item. We are also delighted to be able to help the Aden Veterans and would encourage people to be as generous as possible with their bids”. The piece will be auctioned off on the website later this month on a sealed bid basis as long as the reserve is met the item will have new owners. It is also hoped that the memorabilia will be featured on the TV coverage of the event.
