Palm Beach Imperials Kick-Off Inaugural Season Tonight |

BOCA RATON, FL—November 21, 2006— The Palm Beach Imperials, official members of the 53-team American Basketball Association, will begin their 2006-2007 inaugural season tonight at the Florida Atlantic University Gymnasium at 7:30 pm against the undefeated Jacksonville Jam. The Imperials showcases a fan-friendly and affordable brand of professional basketball and a dedication to helping the community. The first game will feature local charity, Kids@Home.
Kids@Home is a Boca Raton-based non-profit organization providing a comprehensive array of independent living and self-sufficiency care for teenagers who at 18-years-old are aging out of foster care. The goal is to ensure the safety, permanency and well being of teens as they transition from foster care by providing coordination and linkages to housing, education, employment, and caring adults.
Prior to the game will be a ceremonial ribbon-cutting that will be opening the season for the Imperials. Participating in the ceremony will be Boca Raton Mayor Steven Abrams, Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce President Tony McLellan, former Florida Lt. Governor and Florida Atlantic University President Frank Brogan, and 2008 Independent Presidential Candidate Daniel Imperato.
Scheduled to perform at the home opener will be Nationally Champion Dance Team the Pop Starz, national recording artist Montana, Local Recording Artist Jillian Jonas, and 2008 Independent Presidential Candidate Daniel Imperato.
