Tredz the online and real world cycle retailer have today released the dates that detail the expansion of their test bike day scheme. Starting in Afan Argoed in February and ending in Cwm Carn in August, they confirm a full year of full suspension bike test days in two world-class venues.

The full range of bikes presents some of the most sought after full suspension bikes of the moment. Ranging from 4” travel x-country bikes like the Giant Trance 2, Specialized FSR XC Comp and Scott Spark 30, to 5” All mountain bikes like the legendary Specialized Stumpjumper and the Giant Trance X1, all the way up to 6” long travel bikes like the Scott Gambler, The Giant Reign X1 and the Specialized Pitch Pro. The list, which also includes some hardtails, is still to expand.

General manager, Nick Fluck is delighted to see the expansion of the free event: “What makes this such a special day for our customers is that this isn’t just a quick ride in a car park, they get to test these astounding bikes in the conditions they’ve been designed for.”

Afan Argoed, only UK trail to feature in What Mountain Bike Magazine as “one of the ten best places to ride ‘before you die’” and the fastest growing mountain bike area in Britain, has an international reputation. Penhydd is the original trail there. A technical combination of singletrack climbs and descents it was the chosen course for the 2001 World singlespeed championships. The test day follows a route cut back to 12km that will take most riders between 40 and 80 minutes. The dates for Afan Argoed are: February 17th, April 13th, June 8th and August 10th.

Cwm Carn is less than half an hour from the Severn Bridge and easily accessible from the M4. It features all of the rolling singletrack and stunning scenery that makes Wales such a popular destination for mountain bikers. Not least because it was designed by the likes of Rowan Sorrell and Rob Bakewell. The dates for the Cwm Carn test days are: March 16th, May 11th, July 13th and September 7th.
