The newly started transnational project “QA in YCC” sets the ambitious task to contribute for the fulfillment of that gap. It will be possible through the development of quality measures, aiming to improve the quality in the field of youth career consultancy. Recognizable in the last few years in the priorities of European Institutional Programmes, is the lack of applicable schemes in the field of quality management in youth career consultancy (YCC).The newly started transnational project “QA in YCC” sets the ambitious task to contribute for the fulfillment of that gap. It will be possible through the development of quality measures, aiming to improve the quality in the field of youth career consultancy. The 24-months project is financed by “Leonardo da Vinci” Programme of the European Commission. The initiative involves youth organizations and centers, universities and NGOs from Bulgaria, Slovakia, Lithuania, Ireland and the United Kingdom. Project coordinator is Student Computer Art Society (SCAS) from Bulgaria, partners are: National student career and information center (NSICC) – Bulgaria, “Marie Curie” Association – Bulgaria, Fastrack to IT (FIT) – Ireland, Youth Career and Advising Center – Lithuania, University of Presov in Presov – Slovakia, Plymouth City Council Youth service – United Kingdom. The focus of the project will be on the improvement of self-assessment for professional career consultants, who are working with young people and persons with fewer opportunities. This is achievable by flexible instruments, useful and time-saving, enabling the easy and correct assessment. During the lifetime of the project, the trans-national team will explore and systemize 25 quality indicators used in youth career services in the 5 partner countries; will develop quality model of youth career consultancy based on five-step systematic approach; will develop and maintain innovative online platform and database “Virtual quality assurance center”. The realization of the project is a major step ahead in the unification of the quality service standards in youth career consultancy, aiming young people everywhere in Europe to receive equally qualified services. Soon the official website of the project will be operational and presented to wide public.
