Bay Area, San Francisco, California, 17th January, 2008 -- A new website www.momrelief.com was launched recently in Bay Area, California with an aim to deliver a one-stop venue for mothers.
Momrelief.com features different resources that will help mothers manage daily parenting and household needs: preschools, household services, nannies, teachers, tutors, etc.
It is not just a list. It is an interactive social platform. It allows mothers to be an active participant of this website. Mothers can post information about a reliable nanny or a handyman they have used complete with references and pictures, thereby helping many others who are looking out for such services. The website even features a Craigslist with different resources. In the nannies and teachers section they even have an option to download the video of the candidate making it easier for mothers to find a reliable nanny or teacher for their children. And all these services are being offered free of cost.
At MomRelief.com mothers can participate in a forum to discuss motherhood, vacations and home improvements. They can create their own group and find friends with the same interests. They can create neighborhood association groups and use the same services to decrease their expenses for housecleaners, food delivery, gardeners, etc.
Another useful section of this website is “Garage Sale”. It is designed to assist in selling or exchanging of goods and gives the ability to mothers to reach out to their target audience for selling baby wares, women’s clothes and any other products they make. MomRelief.com also has an option for users to personalize a webpage, share photos, videos, music and news and preserve their family history. The start-up package is free and additional features can be added for varying prices.
Karina Lawrence, the founder of MomRelief.com says, “This website was created with the aim for giving support to mothers and women entrepreneurs. We live in a time where priorities are changing. Women are getting more independent and creative. Many of them prefer to start their own businesses and spend quality time with their children instead of working in the corporate world.” When asked about the most popular section of this website, Karina said, “In a special section of our website women will be able to create their own free web page with descriptions, pictures and videos of their products or services. This is an opportunity to expose talents and get the support of the community at no cost.”
About MomRelief.com - Karina Lawrence, the founder of MomRelief.com came to the Bay Area with her two daughters: Sofia who is 16 and Kristina who is 7, six years ago. She bought a house and was taking care of her children, running the household, enrolled in an MBA program and making new friends. Time was valuable and household challenges were taking a great deal of her time. The main problem she encountered was that there were not enough reliable resources available. She asked people she knew, looked through the yellow pages, searched Craigslist but very often she was disappointed in the quality of services. That’s when she decided to create MomRelief.com website to help mothers like her. With the help of MomRelief.com’s services such as information on nannies, teachers, preschools, tutors etc., she tries to help mothers reduce the amount of time they spend running households and hence be able to spend more time with their children.
