The Centre for Surrogate Parenting (CSP), USA joins their friends at COTS U.K.(Childlessness Overcome Through Surrogacy) in celebrating their 20th year in helping childless couples in the U.K. become parents. COTS is the first stop for infertile U.K. couples considering surrogacy.
The Centre for Surrogate Parenting is the oldest and largest surrogacy agency in the world and has worked with couples in the U.K. for 28 years. CSP has helped couples worldwide become parents with the largest percentage of non-U.S. clients originating from the U.K. We are dedicated to surrogacy beyond our financial benefit. Bill Handel, the director of CSP will be available to explain and discuss: · Differences between surrogacy in the United States and United Kingdom· How gay couples can have their own children· Why after 1400 successful surrogate births at CSP there have been zero surrogate mums who have changed their minds about releasing the child to the parents· …And any other technical, legal, or ethical questions you may have An excellent resource on surrogacy is the CSP website, www.CreatingFamilies.com. You may view an informative video interview with CSP staff and clients. To view it, go to CreatingFamilies.com and look for the word “video” in the upper-right corner. A Few Myths About Surrogacy: Myth 1: Agencies just help you find a surrogate mother. Fact: Qualified agencies should screen the couple and the birth mother for psychological and physical compatibility with the process and help with all legal and practical aspects of assuming the role as parents. Myth 2: Agencies take any girls who need money and let them be surrogate mums. Fact: The Centre for Surrogate Parenting screens out 90% of our birth mother applicants and considers a variety of issues including financial stability. We do not accept women who are on benefits, nor women who do not have a good social network of family and friends to nurture them during the process. Myth 3: Gay couples don't make good parents. Fact: The majority of gay parents are in stable committed relationships. CSP requires that all of our couples be in long-term relationships. CSP screens all couples, including heterosexual couples, before they are offered our services. Not every couple that meets with CSP is invited to participate in our programme.
