Canada is often a destination of choice for those wanting to immigrate abroad, however many Canadian citizens leave Canada each year - this is often overlooked.

The perception is that Canada attracts the brightest minds and highest skilled immigrants from around the world, however its own brightest are seeking a new life abroad, mostly in the United States. This may be for a temporary or permanent basis.

"Canada is a great place to live, but because of their high standards and quality workforce there are massive opportunities for Canadians to look abroad," says Liam Clifford, director of www.globalvisas.ca

The Canadian government spends millions of Dollars each year on education and social services, aiming to create a society that is provided for. The fact that many of these citizens developed by the system may leave Canada after graduation poses a massive threat to the growth of Canada, both economically and socially.

However economic opportunities overseas make moving from Canada a lucrative option. Canadian nurses, doctors and engineers are in high demand and can ask for higher salaries in the United States than back home. Taxes are also higher than in the US.

Immigration is difficult for anybody particularly due to the high costs of moving overseas as well as the psychological turmoil that comes with leaving the comfort of home, however these are not as serious when it comes to moving to the US, due to similarities in terms of culture and upbringing.

These statistics may initially seem insignificant, however it takes many years for a foreigner to adapt to a new lifestyle, learn languages and get a job according to qualifications even though highly skilled foreigners from places like India and China are highly sought after by Canadian immigration officials.

Canada is rated highly as one of the best places to live due to the low crime rate, excellent health care and one the best education systems in the world. However there is a constant concern in Canadian circles about the "brain drain" as Canadians leave home at a steady rate.

If you are thinking of moving abroad visit www.globalvisas.ca now, where you can find out more and get expert advice about relocating abroad.
