Please join BodhiHeart Dharma Center for a discussion with Dr. Eileen Borris on A Time for Forgiveness - The Work of Compassion in Resolving Personal and World Conflict based on her latest book, Finding Forgiveness:  A Seven-Step Program to Letting Go of Anger and Bitterness.
Finding Forgiveness:  A Seven-Step Program to Letting Go of Anger and Bitterness provides practical solutions to life's difficulties based on the need to change our perceptions and recognize the humanness in others.  His Holiness the Dalai Lama has written a forward to the book.  It will be available for purchase at this talk.
Please join us on Saturday, November 11th at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and Renewal Center, 2310 N. 56th Street, Phoenix, AZ at 11AM.  The talk will be followed by a question and answer period and a vegetarian lunch.

Dr. Eileen R. Borris is a licensed psychologist with a private practice in Paradise Valley, Arizona. She specializes in helping people deal with forgiveness issues. This can range from marriage difficulties and issues of divorce, to those dealing with trauma or abuse or facing chronic or life threatening illnesses such as cancer. Dr. Borris has recently published two books on forgiveness, “Forgiveness the Ultimate Freedom” and “Finding Forgiveness: A 7-Step Program for Letting Go of Anger and Bitterness.” published by McGraw-Hill. She received her doctorate in psychology from Columbia University. 

 

Dr. Borris is also the Director of Training for the Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy in Washington DC. As Director of Training Dr. Borris designs and implements training programs in international conflict resolution, negotiation, dialogue and peacebuilding incorporating processes of forgiveness, trauma healing and reconciliation within the broader context of international peacebuilding. Dr. Borris has worked for USAID and UNIFEM and has presented her work in forgiveness and reconciliation at many national and international conferences including the DPI/NGO conference at the United Nations. Dr. Borris teaches forgiveness and reconciliation at the Peacebuilding and Development Institute which is part of the School of International Service at American University and at the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University. She is a past president of the American Psychological Association, Division 48 – the Society for the Study of Peace, Conflict and Violence and former committee member for the Committee of International Relations in Psychology.
