Kind-hearted decorators from across the North East have been brushing up on their fund-raising with a charity event held during their annual conference.
The North Eastern Region of the Painting and Decorating Association (PDA) lent its support to Cancer Research UK when branch members organised a charity raffle which was drawn during a gala dinner.
The event was supported by Archidec Design of Wakefield and Neil Ogilvie Decorators, who jointly donated a flat screen TV in support of the cause.
This is the latest fund raising event held by the group, who raised over £500 in support of Motor Neurone Disease research at last year’s conference.
Neil Ogilvie, North East Regional President of the PDA and a member of the Wakefield and District Branch of the organisation, said:
“In total, the amount raised came to £509. A cheque was presented at the Cancer Research shop in Dewsbury, where it was received by Lynn Wood who works for the organisation.
“We chose to support Cancer Research UK this year as it is dedicated to investigating all aspects of the illness, which touches the lives of so many people.”
The PDA is Britain’s largest trade body dedicated to the painting and decorating trade. Registered members, which range from sole traders to national contractors, are rigorously vetted prior to admission and can be relied upon to carry out a professional job at for a fair price.
Notes To Editors
