After announcing plans last September to open a new office in Lincoln, the UK’s largest independent buy-to-let mortgage broker The Money Centre, are pleased to reveal after a fortnight of opening how business is doing. 2007 was The Money Centre’s most successful year, with the company processing over £2 billion of buy-to-let mortgages. Due to the continued growth and success the High Wycombe business centre decided to expand to Lincoln. Chris Allison, business centre director for High Wycombe and Lincoln states: “We decided to open an office in Lincoln because space was very limited in High Wycombe. We identified Lincoln as a developing city with good quality people to recruit and wanted to be a part of it! “After an intense two weeks training we are pleased to start with six people and our aim is to grow to twenty by the end of the year. Our initial response from clients and people within the city has been good and we expect to see good levels of business very soon.” In a recent survey by The Observer it was identified that Lincoln was the tenth most visited city in the UK in 2007. Located on the flat fenlands midway between the sea and large centres of population such as Nottingham and Sheffield, Lincoln in comparison is a small city with a population of 84,000.* Chris Allison continues: “Currently the buy-to-let market is buoyant for landlords who are building their portfolios, however this month’s interest rate cut demonstrates why you need to invest in the buy-to-let market long term.” The Money Centre has over fifteen years experience within the buy-to-let market and over this time period has gone from strength to strength. The company began in Norwich but now operates nationwide with eight offices and over 160 consultants providing focus for portfolio landlords.
