UK Popular Alliance Move Swiftly To Challenge UKIP
Written by bjh
Sunday, 11 February 2007

Just as UKIP were soundly trounced into bottom position at the Bede Ward Election, with just eight votes, the Popular Alliance announce the appointment of Party Leadership positions and commence a recruiting
drive for new members!

Last Position - 7 - United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) 8 votes * 0.5%

This is a significant humiliation.

Implications are major embarrassment for UKIP when the BNP competing factor is taken into account.
(BNP - 546 votes- Second position).

The election result, a New Labour win, indicates that despite many voting members of the public being increasingly concerned about EU undue influence, UKIP seem to be being torn apart with internal
bickering and even reportedly going for a full image branding change.

Clearly UKIP are now losing confidence with the electorate at a time of quantum change for New Labour which should be benefiting the newer parties.

For all politics watchers, the Popular Alliance announcement is detailed below:

The Popular Alliance Party Announce Senior Officer Appointments

Party Leader: Brian Buxton

Party Secretary: Liz Gilchrist

Party Treasurer: Craig Chapman

Party Chairman – Scotland:
Barrie Haycock

Speaking at the announcement elected Leader Brian Buxton said:

“I am delighted that we have an established team working together developing policies we believe will appeal to both members of the public and those involved with business in the UK.

The Popular Alliance was formed by a group of concerned people who have been appalled at the standard of existing Government and other political party alternatives who use “spin” instead of
substance and action to resolve our mounting national problems.

The British public deserve national and local government representation mindful of their responsibility to the taxpayer and fully accountable for their actions, but sadly the major parties seem divorced from the reality of this basic requirement.

We will be actively campaigning against National Government mismanagement and are also particularly interested in identifying and campaigning against the waste of public monies and other
management issues at local government levels.

We will be fielding prospective candidates seeking election whenever future opportunities are available.

We are mindful of the changing political circumstances in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, and our policies will reflect our concerns for specific problems in all areas of the
UK.

We have made an excellent start to 2007, and seek comment or suggestions and will listen to your views and ideas for improving governance at all levels.”

Brian went on to say:

“The Popular Alliance is seeking like minded individuals who are interested in establishing and helping with Branches for the Party in many areas of England, Scotland and Wales.

We want to make a real difference in local community life!
