PADS, an educational and advisory charity, in conjunction with everyclick.com, are launching a new project to encourgae Internet users to raise funds for charity every time they search the Web.
The People And Dogs Society (PADS) is a registered charity which helps dogs by supporting and advising their owners. PADS’ best known service is the Canine Advice Life Line, a telephone and email advice line for anyone with dog related problems, but they also offer a wide range of other information and educational services geared to educating and informing the public, groups and individuals about dog-related issues. PADS is run entirely by volunteers, and the services are all paid for by donations and fundraising events such as the new everyclick project. Everyclick.com works just like any other search engine, but allows the users to choose the charity they would like to benefit from their searching. The revenue generated for charities comes from companies that advertise on the site. There is no sign up fee or hidden charge to the user or the charity, it’s free giving.PADS is now asking all dog owners who use the Internet to sign up at Everyclick and support them. “Everyclick is a great idea” said PADS Chairman Debbie Waller. “Although there are better known search engines, I’ve been using everyclick for a while now and have found their results to be really good.”“Anyone can sign up to support PADS; you just carry on doing Internet searches you would be doing anyway. The only difference is that PADS – and through them dogs and their owners – benefit.”All readers have to do to help PADS is go to http://www.everyclick.com/peopleanddogssociety and choose the ‘help raise more’ option. Charities of all sizes are benefiting from this new fundraising service, they range from Cancer Research to small village schools. If 10% of the UK online population used Everyclick.com for their searches, an additional £172,000 would be raised for charity every day.“Most of us wish we could give more, now we can. Everyclick is a really simple way to raise money for free, just by doing something you already do” said Polly Gowers CEO, co- founder and winner of the WEBA Ethical Entrepreneur of the year 2007. “As we see it, every search that is not raising money for charity is a search wasted.”Everyclick.com has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity, please see the website for an up-to-date total.-ends- Notes to editors:For further information about PADS, please · email
