Light The Way Campaign during Autism Awareness Month in April

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Denver, CO( February 28, 2008)-  InfoPAC (Information for Parents of Autistic Children), a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing information to parents of children newly diagnosed with autism  announces  that April is Autism Awareness Month.  During the months of March and April InfoPAC will be sponsoring “Light the Way” by selling candles during these months and asking  people to place lit candles in their windows at night in April to show their support for autism awareness.  ABOUT AUTISM
Autism, is a disorder that inhibits a child’s ability to communicate and develop social relationships, and is often associated with extreme behavior. Autism Spectrum Disorders are diagnosed in one in 155 children in the United States, affecting four times as many boys as girls. The diagnosis of autism has increased in the last decade. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that autism is a national public health crisis with the cause and cure unknown.
