Father’s appeal for runners to support wish-granting charity

THE father of a little girl who has battled leukaemia is appealing for runners to take part in the Great Manchester Run.

Four year old Harriet Hatton from Lancashire is currently in remission after two years fighting cancer. She’s looking forward to a trip to Disneyland Paris, thanks to Round Table Children’s Wish.

Her father Gareth is supporting the charity in the 10km run this May, alongside 10 friends, and RTCW has places available for other runners interested in supporting them.

Gareth, 36, said: “Harriet had such excellent treatment that I ran last year to raise money for Pendlebury, the local children’s hospital.

“Now her childhood dream of visiting Disneyland Paris is being granted and I’d like to do something to help grant wishes for other children suffering from life-threatening illnesses.

“I urge other runners to support children like Harriett by running for Round Table Children’s Wish.”

RTCW, which grants wishes for children with life-threatening illnesses throughout the UK, has 11 places available in the Great Manchester Run on Sunday May 20.

Applications for entry must be made directly to the RTCW office by April 1. To find out more visit www.rtcw.org or call 01202 514515.
