800 homes and counting for Hundred Houses Society
Written by Outplay Media

Cambridge-based housing association Hundred Houses Society is celebrating the completion of its 800th home with a special cake cutting ceremony at the site development site.

Hundred Houses Society is approaching its 75th anniversary of providing homes and services for local people. The Society was founded in 1933 by a group of people concerned to meet the needs of working families in Chesterton. Since then, the Society has continued to provide affordable rented and shared ownership homes with a portfolio that includes over 800 homes that are either managed or owned by the Society.

The 800th home to be completed on behalf of the Society is part of The Triangle on Station Road, built by George Wimpey, a landmark development in the heart of Cambridge.

To commemorate the occasion, a special cake baked in the shape and colours of the development has been prepared by one of the Society's tenants, Mrs Sharon Henderson of Edinburgh Road. Mayor Robert Dryden will officially mark the occasion of the 800th home by cutting the first slice for new residents and guests at a ceremony at the offices of TP Associates, Daedalus House, Station Road, Cambridge on 10th May.
