Written by: Bernie Gaye Boston, MA - March 12, 2008 – The Opening Note is a new music industry website that gives the inside scoop on current events in the music industry, as well as resources for bands and artists alike on gigging, touring, marketing, public relations, networking, radio promotion, and music publishing. The Opening Note gives the “Middle Class Musician” a place to come for what’s going on in the industry, as well as guides to help them reach their musical career goals and objectives more efficiently. Started by Berklee College of Music graduate Kris Rodgers, The Opening Note was created with the aspiring music professional in mind. Instead of being a forum and gathering place for music executives to bicker about the ever changing music industry, this site is about showing the local garage band how to incorporate those ever changing elements into the small business they call their band. With the Daily Run Down, user’s can view and investigate the latest news stories buzzing around the music industry, and by navigating through the different categories on the site receive priceless resource articles like “How to Promote Your Next Gig”, “Breaking an Act”, and “The Importance of Social Networking/Marketing”.
