An unsung hero of the music industry, local man John Perrin of Palmers Green, died on Friday 28th March 2008 in St Michaels Hospital, Enfield at age 62 of Pancreatic Cancer. A master of sound and light engineering arts, John provided technical services to some of the biggest bands in the business including Hawkwind, Peter Gabriel, Motorhead and many more as part of the crew of Liquid Len & the Lensmen and as house engineer/technician for the renouned Camden Palace/Music Machine (now known as KoKo) in Camden. His touring days ended after a heart attack which slowed him down but couldn't keep him away from the live music and other activities that he loved like radio, tape recording or computing and for the past 9 years he was an active committee member and sound / lighting engineer for the Electric Blues Club (www.electricbluesclub.co.uk/john-perrin.html) including the annual Sunday Sessions at Broomfield Park held in August. The funeral will be on Monday 14th April 2008 at 2.15pm New Southgate Crematorium Brunswick Park Road New Southgate N11 IJJ.
