Leading the way in the fight against hospital superbugs

One in four NHS Trusts are failing to achieve hygiene standards that were put in place to combat superbugs such as MRSA and Clostridium difficile (C. diff), a Health Commission report recently found.

The cleaning solution Virusolve+, available from M.A.S. Medical, leads the way in the fight against such infections, thanks to its ability to penetrate and destroy the target cell’s ribonucleic acid (RNA); rendering it unable to reproduce and preventing its ability to spread.

Virusolve+ is also capable of killing other infections such as hepatitis B and C and Avian Flu and is clinically proven to destroy almost all microbials in both clean and dirty conditions. Despite its power, Virusolve+ is safe to use, as it is non-hazardous at operational dilutions and will not cause skin irritation.

Virusolve+ adapts well to a working healthcare environment as it does not require prior surface cleaning; saving time and money. It is also versatile as it can be used as a non-rinse disinfectant on walls, floors, ceilings and fittings, as a pre-cleaner for medical and surgical instruments, and as a cleaner for body fluid spillages.

John Coe, Director of M.A.S. Medical, said: “Hospital infections cannot be ignored; costing lives and the NHS approximately £1 billion annually. Virusolve+ is highly effective in destroying superbugs - effective at room temperature in less than a minute and safe for staff to use; it is a practical way of tackling cross infection.”
