Channel 4 is showing "House of Agoraphobics" tomorrow night, 21 December. The advance publicity about this show promises a new treatment -- which may or may not work. HGI has over 200 members who are trained in dealing with all forms of anxiety disorders -- from panic attacks to full blown agoraphobia -- and has successful case studies to prove that human givens treatment does work. "A mixture of cognitive and guided imagery approaches plus detraumatising any disturbing memories that may have triggered the agoraphobia, such as panic attacks, usually gets people back to normal quickly. Treating agoraphobia is satisfying work for counsellors because the results are easily measurable and come about quite quickly when the RIGAAR model is followed," says Ivan Tyrrell, a director of the HGI. We would be pleased to discuss with any member of the public or press, as a result of this programme, how to treat even the most severe cases of agoraphobia. Contact us on 01323 811 662.
