Today’s production companies and studios have formed an elitist group that only allows a select few to have access to extortionate amounts of money to create films primarily made to make large turnovers. Artistic licence is cut for profit and film makers, however talented, often find themselves outside of the inner circle, floundering without any support. A group of young film makers hope to break this trend. London, England, May 06, 2008 – The concept is simple: To raise money for a full feature film without having to be at the mercy of the Hollywood giants. This will be done by selling single credits which are displayed at the end of the film. The credit is a title displaying the name of the purchaser or the name they enter when purchasing. They are extremely inexpensive costing $2 but compiled together a substantial sum would hopefully be created. The size of the film completely relies on how many people buy credits therefore the scope is endless. The credits themselves are easily and securely purchased by using www.buyacredit.com which also acts as a news portal for the project.
The film itself is a heavy adaptation of a virtually unknown Jules Verne novel and comprises of a narrative that is full of adventure, love and worldly greed. The film makers take no earnings from the collected funds so every last dime goes solely to the production. Without having a production company breathing down their necks the directors can fully express themselves and are able to create a film in total freedom which is a situation rarely found in the larger studios. Ben Robbins, Adrian Bliss and Toby Stubbs are the film makers/creators of www.buyacredit.com . Previously they have had experience in creating short films and small scale commercial productions. They have often thought about ways of taking themselves into the next stages by breaking into the mainstream industry. But to their dismay it seems that the hundreds of barriers put up by the industries big players put down even the most enthusiastic of film makers. However with their project they hope to gain public support enough to open a back door into one of the most lucrative yet exclusive industries in the world.
