Please find the press release for our new product nugg.ad|social in the following.

nugg.ad|social enables social networks to use predictive behavioral targeting and be fully compliant to data privacy and data protection laws. Using the informational separation of powers is a central point in our approach and as we think the only way for social networks to deliver advertising effectively without abusing user data.

For the first time, nugg.ad|social provides social networks with data-protection-compliant targeting

-     with nugg.ad|social, nugg.ad offers a targeting tool for advertising in social networks

-     nugg.ad|social stands for uncompromising data protection

-     nugg.ad|social translates Web2.0 content into marketable and plannable inventory

In recent years, communities and social networks have experienced enormous growth both in terms of the numbers of users involved and the online traffic generated. This trend continues unabated. However; Most platforms are not in a position to monetize these values. For structural reasons, optimum delivery of classic, content-linked advertising is not possible here. While it is theoretically possible to evaluate profile data for advertising-control purposes, users are often averse to this form of profile-driven advertising. Furthermore, problematic from the standpoint of data-protection laws.

Its new product – nugg.ad |social – makes nugg.ad the first company to solve this problem by means of the nugg.ad Predictive Targeting Engine. Drawing on the proven principle of combining survey and measurement in a single tool, user preferences are statistically modeled – and are enriched with demographic data and lifestyle interests, amongst other things. By incorporating external service providers which forward the data to nugg.ad in anonymized form only and by generating predictions (i.e. statistical estimates), no personal data are used.

The principle of data protection through an informational separation of powers, a separation observed at nugg.ad as a matter of principle is also firmly in place at nugg.ad|social. “For the first time, nugg.ad|social makes it possible to use communities for advertising purposes without the direct use of profile data,” Stephan Noller, Managing Board Member for Products & Technology at nugg.ad points out. “Users can rest assured that no data traceable to them is used. Nevertheless, advertisers are in a position to place advertising with relevant target groups and this enables platform operators to turn a profit.”
