Economists throughout the globe are crossing their fingers hoping to pull through the recession that United States Of America(USA) has been facing a great threat of, but the online display advertising industry is all set to boom in the coming years.

The year 2008 brought great risks of recession in USA along with it, and its impact would be seen through out the markets of various other countries. But amidst all this, the online display advertising industry of USA is wading strongly through the tough times.

According to Internet Advertising Revenue Report prepared in cooperation by Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), 2007 was another record year for online advertisement industry despite the current economic state of the market.

The IAB said that the revenues for fourth quarter of 2007 reached 5.9 billion dollars, the highest ever for a single quarter and 24% higher than the same period in 2006. They also stated that search, display, classifieds and lead generation all continued growing, but as in the prior years, the consumer advertisers was the largest category of internet advertising spending, at 55% of 2007.

The graph of US online spending has got bigger and bigger from 2006 to 2008 as it was at 16.9 billion dollars in 2006 and it is expected to go up to 25.9 billion dollars this year and way up to 51 billion dollars by 2012.
