Man Found Dead on P&O Pacific Sun Cruise

A SYDNEY man was found dead in a public area on the P&O cruise ship Pacific Sun on Monday night after a supposed brawl.

The man had won the eight day cruise holiday in a radio competition, and was believed to be travelling with a large family group.

P&O cruise line is now the subject of the police investigation into the mysterious death of the 31-year-old father of one.

Spokeswoman for P&O Sandy Olsen denied reports that the man had been involved in a brawl with another passenger.

Ms Olsen rejected reports of the man being involved in a fight, and said he was not found in a public bar onboard the ship.

But she was unable to say whether the man had suffered any physical injuries or whether there had been attempts to resuscitate him.

Another P&O spokeswoman Libby Moffat later stated that another passenger found the man and reported the situation to the ships staff.

This most recent death comes after the storm surrounding the P&O cruise ship death of Dianne Brimble in 2002.

Last month a New South Wales coroner suggested charges be brought against two men, as he concluded a 16-month inquest into the 42-year-old Brisbane woman's drug-related death onboard the Pacific Sky.
