PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FROM SOUR GRAPES TO FRESH FRUIT DELIVERED TO THE OFFICE
“With the major supermarkets taking over, it was impossible to carry on trading at street level” says Daniel Ox, whose family have been trading fruit on the streets of London for over 38 years. “But we were not willing to just lay down and die, and we have come back with a new idea that we know people are looking for.”
Gone is the bunting and the luminous price signs of the stall, and in its place comes an easy to use website – www.fruitfortheoffice.co.uk. The site allows companies to schedule regular deliveries of fresh fruit, quickly and easily through an online ordering system.

Daniel Ox has taken on the mantle of his step father to bring a healthy option to the workforce of the city. “Times have changed. The web has allowed us to get off the street but still offer great value and nutritious alternatives to other snacks. We can also reach more offices in and around London.”

Daniel and his team will be carrying out a ‘Big Fruit Giveaway’ at Liverpool Street Station on 12th February when they distribute over 10,000 pieces of fruit to workers needing a morning pick up. Keep your eyes out for the Green Fleeces!

Success has been swift with many companies already realising the benefits to the health and productivity of their staff. “It’s amazing how a few pieces of fresh fruit really do make a difference to an office. People take less time out to buy junk, they are healthier so they work better, and it just makes them feel as if their bosses are thinking about them” said Daniel. “Getting it delivered once, twice a week, or every day, seems to just pick people up and make them more fruitful.”

In 2004, an APP survey showed that 15% of people asked get free fruit at work, and almost all value it. Of those that said they didn't receive it, 56 per cent said it would be good for them if they did.

“My step dad is a bit old fashioned when it comes to selling, but even he has now started to see the advantage. And, as far, as what he thinks of the big chains, let’s just say he now blows one large raspberry at them.”
